Part of our brand new look, is to provide the people of Ottawa a bird’s eye view into the prominent Indo/Canadian celebrities at the festival. You’ll have to stay tuned as we announce our All-Star lineup of guests throughout the next few days!
In addition to last years events, we are planning this year to add a number of new items from the Shopping Boulevard, Spice Market, Beer Garden and the highly anticipated Flavours of India Food Tent!
The Festival of India Ottawa is preparing for another year of Indian culture, sounds, smells and tastes!! Once again the festival will take place on the side lawn of City Hall, and will be taking on a new look this year. We have decided to listen to the supporters while planning this year, and look forward to showing off our brand new format!! Be sure to check the site regularly for schedule updates and celebrity guest announcements!
In the kids zone, there will be tons of children activities and fun for the whole family: face painting, henna hand painting, make your own cup with interactive POTTERY, RANGOLI – design with colours and play HOLI with colors …to name a few.
With a country so rich in culture, the primary goal of the festival is to make sure that we can share this deep history with our patrons. Come visit the colors, smells, sounds and of course tastes India has to offer.
Off the success of entertainment from last year, we have been working hard to double the excitement and provide you with music and dances covering from purely classical, fusion, folk to modern varieties.
Enjoy the melodious “Seven Swaras” featuring Flute Siva, Raphael Weinroth-Browne – Cello, Sam Thomas -Drums
