FESTIVAL OF INDIA, OTTAWA is a premier Indian organization in the National Capital Region that celebrates Canada’s multicultural heritage and provides opportunities for various cultures to meet annually face to face, to showcase their cultures in various ways, to appreciate and respect all cultures, and to make Canada the best place for all.
Festival of India, Ottawa accomplishes its vision and goals through:
- the tireless and dedicated work of three hundred volunteers;
- the understanding and generosity of many sponsors;
- the appreciation and generous support of governmental agencies at all levels;
- and the unstinting support and participation of more than 8000 visitors.
The three day extravaganza features superb musical and dance acts from India and North America, more than sixty workshops Yoga to Bollywood Dancing. In addition, more than twenty vendors satisfy the needs of their patrons with their wares ranging from Indian jewellery to quality handicrafts. There are Panel Discussions on important current topics by distinguished scholars. To top all these activities, the famed Indian cuisine from all regions of India, freshly prepared on site, delights the most demanding of palates.
